AR Mirror, Onsite Brand Activation

For Shein’s after-party at the Coachella festival, an interactive AR Mirror activation was designed to engage 3,500 attendees, including celebrities and influencers.
The experience featured full-body AR filters and a contact collection system, allowing guests to share their personalized AR moments on social media while connecting with Shein’s audience. This was complemented by a social media AR activation, ensuring an extended online presence beyond the physical event.
Process
Challenge:
Deliver an interactive AR experience on the vendor's hardware for the first time while integrating a social media AR activation to complement the physical event. The challenge also involved managing the logistics of onsite engagement.

Created a vibrant and immersive experience, including:
Full-body AR filters like Drama Wings & Electric Field & Face filter Butterfly for WebAR.
An AR aura-reading mirror where attendees could "read" their aura in real-time after entering their contact information. They received personalized descriptions via Shein’s official social media accounts.
“Glitter” is a face filter for Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok social platforms.
Attendees could play with the colorful, body-tracking filters during the event and instantly share their experiences with their followers or find recorded content on the shared gallery.

Spark AR (Instagram), LensStudio (Snap), Effect House (TikTok), Vendor Hardware, Geenee Face, and Full Body SDK, Three.js, TypeScript, React, Figma, Blender.
Result
The Shein Event at Coachella was a success, generating over 165K impressions across various platforms. More than 1.5K onsite participants engaged with the experience, and over 300 valuable influencer contacts were collected.
The activation's success led Shein to commission a larger Virtual Try-On (VTO) campaign following the event.
